On Tuesday December 17 the Broadcast Technology II students got to experience what a real live taping of a show would be like. We teamed up with HEC-TV earlier in the year to do a live taping but this was our own show, Ladue View. Prior to the show date we all got jobs so that the day of everything would run smoothly. I was assigned to 'Aja.' This meant that I was in charge of making sure that all of the featured stories were ready to be played. The first few rehearsals were really frustrating because I was not told much, except to pause and play the video. Once I'd made a few mistakes I was given a more in depth summary. Once we practiced and I got the hang of it we taped it and were going to just start and get all the way through no matter what happened. The director for the day, Lillian Donahue, did an outstanding job communicating with everyone, and keeping calm. The whole thing was a success and it was really cool to have such a real life experience in a high school class. I am looking forward to the next time that we do a live taping because it is so much more fast and fun! To see the show visit http://lhstv.weebly.com/ladue-view.html
